Grants & Opportunities
[Boston] Youth Poet Laureate
The City of Boston is looking for its next Youth Poet Laureate. The Youth Poet Laureate will act as an advocate for poetry, language and the arts, and create a unique artistic legacy through public readings and civic events. Apply by November 30 at 11:59pm.
[Massachusetts] Grants for Creative Individuals
Mass Cultural Council is finalizing a new program to equitably support creative expression with $5,000 grants to individuals throughout the Commonwealth. Apply by December 11 at 11:59pm.
Residencies
[Massachusetts] The Studios at Mass MoCA
Apply for a residency at the Studios at MASS MoCA and get space and time for your work, plus a whole lot more. This is a FREE application, and there are lots of financial aid and fellowship opportunities. Applications for June-December 2024 residencies due by November 8.
[Boston] Studio 170 Residency
The Goethe-Institut Boston invites New England creatives from all fields of artistic practice to submit proposals for a Studio 170 Residency in 2024. Successful applicants will realize their proposed projects in our newly-renovated space in Back Bay. Apply by November 17.
Calls for Submissions
New England Review gives readers a vital snapshot of the literary moment, four times a year, in its richness, complexity, and diversity. Submit by November 1.
Stellar short fiction by women-identified writers since 2010. Submit by November 15.
Quarterly online magazine of international speculative fiction ⬣ We publish the weird, wondrous, and whimsical! Submit by November 30.
Persimmon Tree, an online magazine, is a showcase for the creativity and talent of women over sixty. Too often older women’s artistic work is ignored or disregarded, and only those few who are already established receive the attention they deserve. Submit in November.

Boston Center for the Arts and Bodega team up to present the fifth Boston Art Book Fair, a free, all-ages weekend celebrating art, text, print and the myriad ways artists find expression through — and push the definition of! — these forms. This much anticipated annual event invites active engagement, engages all the senses, and has the goal of connecting art with community as broadly as possible.

Cambridge Arts and Community Development Department are offering free workshops to support emerging artists through their professional development. [Virtual] Planning with Your Whole Self in Your Art Practice w/ John Vo

In this intimate, highly interactive series, artist John Vo introduces structures for achieving one’s creative goals without compromising the many additional roles and identities each artist holds. Participants will come away with the components of a personal and creative plan unique to their creative identity.
